Lack of confidence is caused by insecure thinking. First and foremost we don't need to take our thinking personally. Thinking occurs—much like the heart beats and the stomach digests, our mind thinks. What we want to get savvy to is when our thoughts are of a judgmental nature. When we judge, we drop anchor on someone else or ourselves, like a judge drops the gavel. Once the judgment has been set, it's a done deal.
Judgement against ourselves causes grave insecurities. AND let's face it, if we judge ourselves for something we're ONLY going to be able to judge another for that very same thing.
This is how we get stuck. Leaders exercise choice, and letting go of judgement, moving on, is a choice.

In order to create results from our coaching experience, it's a requirement that we "try things on" and check out new ways of doing (thinking, feeling) first—before we decide if this "new way" is of value. Being coachable asks us to exercise courage and willingness to try something new, and gather data -- this is the only way to "know" whether you've landed on a useful tool for you.
Are you game?
